CONFIDENCE!

Something I have become increasingly aware of lately is girls lack of confidence.  I knew it was a problem I just didn’t realize to what extent.  I wrote about insecurity earlier but confidence has a few different facets.

One of those being the very fine line between showing confidence and acting “cocky.”  This is a surprisingly easy line to cross but I’ve decided that I would rather present myself as a self-confident woman and come off cocky than suppress that confidence and appear insecure.

The reason I bring this up is not to repeat how girls’ insecurities lead them to sleep with random guys, but to also point out how many girls act otherwise.  It was recently brought to my attention that my abstinence is noticeable because I hold myself well, I don’t look at guys like I want to jump them, and I provide intelligent conversation rather than stand there and giggle.  Although I don’t mind sharing about my choice to abstain, I would rather these qualities be labeled as a sign of my confidence, not lack of sex.  It’s definitely possible to look at someone with genuine interest and act as an intellectual human being without being abstinent.

Have confidence that a man will want you for more than your body, make him want you for your personality and your brain!  Be willing to share your actual interests and don’t just tell him what you think he wants to hear…trust me, that will blow up on you eventually.  Have faith that God will put the right man in your path and you don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not in a futile attempt to make some random dude fall for you.  Try out confidence for a change and see what happens.
